Toy boy Fraudster Tricked OAP into signing away her £320k will

A court has heard how 28-year-old Benjamin Field wrote messages from God on an Elderly woman’s mirror, to trick her into signing away her £320,000 will.

Benjamin Field is in court accused of attempted murder, alongside Martyn Smith. The two men are thought to have conspired to break their elderly victim’s mind and drive her to the grave. Benjamin Field was 57 years her junior, he sent her letters and poems during his year long seduction plan. He fooled her by saying he was in love and wanted to get married, eventually persuading her to leave her house to him in her will.

In court, jurors were shown pictures of messages Field scrawled on his elderly victim’s bathroom mirror, pretending to be from god telling her to hand over her estate. The first message, illustrated with a cross, said: “All that you give him, He will return, Ten-fold.” A second message said: “Your intentions are holy, your work is not yet done, take care and complete the task given to you by the Lord.” A third said: “Your soul will proceed directly to heaven, her soul to joy; his to perfection, this good will can never be undone. Peace is yours in me, your Lord. Amen.” The final message said: “Pray for Ben, Ben loves you.”

The court heard that Miss Moore-Martin began to believe the messages were from God and Field also spoke of receiving them. The church warden, who admits being in a fraudulent relationship with Miss Moore-Martin, also wrote messages urging her to give him £27,000 towards the cost of a dialysis machine, purportedly for his seriously ill brother Tom, 24.

Oliver Saxby QC, prosecuting, previously told jurors that by the time she was receiving the messages Miss Moore-Martin had started feeling unwell and had started worrying about her sanity.  Field has admitted defrauding Miss Moore-Martin of £4,000 to buy a car and £27,000 to buy a dialysis machine. Tom Field and Smith deny having roles in the dialysis fraud.

Field is charged with one count of murder, one count of attempted murder, one count of conspiracy to murder, one count of burglary, three counts of fraud and one count of possession of an article for use in fraud. He has admitted three fraud counts and burglary.

Smith, denies all the charges against him – one count of murder, one count of attempted murder, one count of conspiracy to murder, three counts of fraud, one count of burglary and one count of possession of an article for use in fraud, namely the will of an 101-year-old woman Field lodged with.
